Directors and Founders

Garda Alexander

Garda AlexanderGarda Alexander is a figurative artist. She has worked as freelancer for 20 years. Since 1999 she realized artistic works together with children.
Since 2001 she is painting with the beduin children in Sina/Egypt and founded the organization child & art 2004. Refer to www.garda.ch

Her engagement derives from of the conviction that creative work strengthens the consciousness and self-esteem. “I work for a vision of a world in which children anchor in their basic trust.”

Kathrin Zehnder-Hatt

Kathrin Zehner HattKathrin enjoys the privilege to be able to engage her-self for cultural and social issues, after having been professionally and politically committed. As an active grand-mother, she cares especially for children. In our culture and society, young children learn to work with colours and can experiment in their application for joy and art. Kathrin’s motivation to support the association ‘Childres & Arts’ grounds on the objective to permit the same for children in other cultures in the third world.

Caterina Laura Minelle-Stallone

Caterina Laura Minelle-StalloneSince 1992 I have worked at HYPOSWISS Privatbank AG, Zürich. My current position is as a senior customer consultant. I provide assistance to national and international high status customers.
Because of a long friendship between Kathrin Zehnder-Hatt and my employer, in June 2006 I got in touch with “Child & Art”. In spring 2008 I accompanied Garda Alexander for 10 days to the Sinai. The interaction with the local children was an important antidote to my daily hectic work life. In addition, I know that through our involvement we can contribute to their welfare and provide creative support for them.

Tatanja Guerra Heusser

Tatanja Guerra HeusserAs the mother of two school-aged girls, I observe daily how important creative work is for children. When I had the chance to accompany Garda Alexander to the Sinai with my older daughter, we were amazed at the comfortable exchanges between the children. There were no cultural or linguistic barriers.
I want to sustain this cross-cultural exchange with my engagement for “Child & Art”, supporting children in developing countries in their creativity.
